The Chromatographic Services Department conducts residue analysis of pesticides and related organic pollutants in fresh produce, raw food materials and environmental samples; using validated multi-residue and target compound specific methods. Final analyses are done by gas and/or liquid chromatography with different modes of detection including mass-selective detection (MS). The Laboratory and Facility are ISO 17025: 2017 (SANAS CAB number: T0270) accredited and OECD Principles of GLP compliant for residue decline studies (SANAS CAB number: G0002).

Unfortunately, the laboratory’s Scope of Accreditation does not cover any TESTING related to the efficacy of pest (invertebrates and/or vertebrates) repellents or pesticides. No qualitative analyses of Formulations Quality Verifications are conducted

The SABS laboratory (Pesticide: Agri-Trials laboratory) that previously conducted the efficacy testing based on SANS SM 6136 was closed.
